The Petzi Treat Cam is quite an established name in the marketplace, and is one of the more older products. It has around 400 Amazon reviewers, of which it has received a majority of positive feedback. The Petzi Treat Cam is a remote treat dispenser that makes it easy and fun to connect with your pet, anytime, anywhere. The Petzi only sports a SD camera, where most of it’s competitors are now offering HD. That said,  the quality of the video still seems to be exceptional and even features a night-vision mode. The device is quite large and not as modern as the Furbo, however it can be attached to the wall like the photo above. The treat dispensing mechanism also seems to have predominantly positive feedback, with some users complaining of multiple treats coming out at once, but hey, your pet will love you that little bit more.

Measuring 22cm high, the Petzi Treat Cam is quite a bit larger than some of the other devices on the market, however still features quite a minimal design. While it isn’t our favorite product when it comes to design, there’s no denying the camera is still simply stylish and even includes its own mounting kit so you can mount it on any wall in your house. The product is also very smooth and rounded, making it hard for your dog to sink its teeth into.

Petzi Treat Cam Unboxing

1 x Petzi Treat Cam
1 x 6ft Power Charger
1 x Universal Mounting Kit
1 x Set of Rubber Feet
1 x User Manual/Start Guide

The setup of the product was extremely easy and everything worked seamlessly. The Petzi website has an entire page dedicated to troubleshooting each part of the setup, and even offers technical support over the phone if you encounter any other issues.

The Petzi Treat Cam, although labelled as a SD camera, seems to have quite exceptional video quality. The camera also features a wide-angle lens and quite a remarkable night-vision mode. The camera does however lack a digital zoom, which some of its competitors have started to implement.

Although there seems to be cams with better video quality like the Petcube Play or the Furbo, the Petzi Treat Cam gets the job done. Scrolling through verified purchasers on Amazon, you will find predominantly good reviews and positive feeedback, with the occasional user stating they are slightly disappointed, especially when they are on a slower internet connection.

Here are some shots of what you can expect with the camera in both normal mode and night-vision mode.

The Petzi Treat Cam features high quality audio quality allowing you to easily speak to your dogs, cats or any other weird pets you may have. That said, the Petzi is one of the only cameras to only feature 1-way audio, meaning you can not hear your pets audio back. This may not be a massive downside if you have a cat, however we think it limits the functionality if you have a dog, as it does not offer audio or barking alerts like many of its competitors. But if this isn’t an issue, then you can be certain the audio is top notch and you can see a strong pattern of positive reviews regarding its sound quality.

The Petzi Treat Cam features the increasingly popular treat throwing feature, and is exceptionally well-reviewed. Petzi recommends using treats smaller than 1′ (inch) in size to ensure the mechanism does not get stuck. That said, many and most dog treats seem to fit and are thrown exceptionally well. The mechanism can actually throw the treats quite a distance, however is a little noisy, and may take your dog a little time to get used to.

To add your treats you simply remove the outer cover and pour them into the opening, it’s idiot-proof!

The Petzi mobile apps are quite intuitive and easy to use, and full of colour! You can also view other public pet cameras if that is of interest to you. Once in the app you have a variety on controls to interact with your pet. Under the Petzi Treat Cam option you can find the following:

Photo Snap – Quickly take a photo of your pet and save it to your camera roll.
Sound Effect – Alert your pet that you are there by sending them a sound alert through the camera. Your pet can then be trained to come to the camera when they hear this noise.
Treat Dispense – Throw a treat to your pet!
Voice – Toggle the audio so you can choose whether your pets can hear you or not.
Settings – Further settings like volume controls.

The Petzi Treat Cam comes with a 1-year warranty, and a 30-day money back guarantee if you’re not satisfied with the product.

The Petzi Treat Cam features a cool little feature called the Petzi Social Network. This feature allows you to easily share pictures or photos of your pets and share them with other Petzi users. Personally I would never use this feature, I can’t understand why you’d want to spend your time looking at pictures of other dogs, but hey, some people might enjoy something like this.

While the Petzi Treat Cams has a few downsides, we highly recommend the product, especially for the price. The product features a clean design, is easy to set up, and has a great treat throwing mechanism. Where it lacks a little is it’s lack of two-way audio, which means no barking or motion alerts. Given the price of this product though, and how highly it comes reviewed on Amazon, it should definitely be considered as one of your top choices.
